Wing over!The Goldfields Dust Devils Club was formed in April 2001 by a small group of Hang Gliding and Para Gliding enthusiasts in Kalgoorlie.

The main aim of the club is to promote the sport of hang gliding and paragliding in the Goldfields region. Numerous clubs for hang gliding and paragliding exist in WA, mainly in Perth. This is fine if you like traveling to Perth every weekend for some flying, but why go to Perth? The Goldfields region has a lot to offer with great thermalling weather almost all year round, and with Esperance “just down the road” for fantastic ridge soaring. So, if you want some excitement and like the idea of literally flying free as a bird, give us a call! Anyone’s welcome.

Dusties to host the Wylie Classic 2009

The Goldfields Dust Devils will be organising the 2009 WA State Soaring Championships.

The Goldfields Dust Devils will be organising the Western Australian State Title in 2009. The competition will be held in Wyalcatchem and the dates are 22nd February to 1st March 2009, so mark these dates in your diary. The 2008 comp was great with no less than five 10,000ft days. Lets keep the tradition alive and have even more fun in 2009.

If you enjoy flying cross country/flying with you mates and having fun this is the comp to enter.

Highlights will include great x-country flying, friendly competitive atmosphere, presentation dinner and the traditional “Dusties Spit” organized by Muz. In 2009 the Spit will also include a “Dusties Keg” of Kalgoorlie Beer brewed at our own micro brewery in Kalgoorlie. Not to be missed!
